Title: Message
From memory, the SO in SODIMM stands for single out, so they can be used singly.

I think you have it sussed Des, only question now is whether they have to go in as a matched pair...I still think not from the wording in the faq where it says it doesn't matter which socket you use.

I would guess that they are using 144-pin EDO SO-dimms, were popular in notebooks of the era.

From the Fujitsu website...

"8 MB EDO RAM on-board expandable using 72-pin DIMMs (EDO or fast-page)"

DIMMs are 168pin, SIMMs are 72pin. EDO RAM is only available in SIMMs, Fast Page RAM is only available in SIMMs. SIMMs are often referred to as DRAM which might be confusing I guess.

Check on http://www.dabs.com/products/prod-search.asp?action=search&tid=760&ob=manufacturer&obd=asc&stab=ref&paged=n and see if you agree ... there is no mention of EDO or Fast Page on any of the DIMM modules specs but the SIMMs are all classed as EDO or Fast Page.

It's more likely that they made a mistake and mistyped a "D" instead of an "S" isn't it rather than mistakenly typing 72 instead of 168 for the pin count and adding Fast Page and EDO where it wasn't, no?

Absolutely right ... But IIRC the memory slots in the Fujitsu are SIMMs
aren't they?
