I
think you are right but not 100% sure....the faq certainly seems to
indicate
that upgrading is add a dimm rather than replace. In fact it says
.......
- Insert the DIMM card in a socket at an angle and push it down until it
locks into place. Note that the DIMM card is keyed to prevent it from being
inserted backwards. There are two side springs to hold the DIMM in place.
In
the Point 510, the DIMM can be installed in either of the two sockets.
the last sentence
pretty
much says you can install one dimm. Of course you can still only upgrade if
it
is a single 32mb installed rather than 2x 16mb.

I was always under the
impression
that Dimms (the D being dual) eliminated the need for 2 x Simms (S being
single)
Or have I been a crap hardware engineer !

Nope ... It needs matched pairs of memory modules which I
believe are 72pin SIMMs.
