They obviously make the money by having people

Actually, they make major money on both. I am sure they would have millions
on deposit which they would be able to get a prefferetnial rolling rate on,
plus as each 99p transaction only costs them less than 20p, their margins
look healthy enough for me :)

I havn't had a 99p charge yet, so they are only making money on the
interest
on my balance. More than welcome to it they are :)

I used paypal before, but they charge rediculous amounts, if you sell
something for £100, by the time you eventually get the cash, it would be
down to around £90.
