Basically, you install the OS on another machine, and get drivers for
whatever device you want to use working.  You then swap the HDD over to the
Fujitsu and install the drivers it needs from the CD you installed or
(prefereably) a network card.

I have a Stylistics 1000 running Suse 2.4.  The OS was installed on another
machine, and HDD moved over to the laptop.  I used a generic network card
to
install all extra drivers/software.  It's quite funky, but not quick enough
to run X.
