There was a thread on this a while back.....if I recall correctly it can be done but it isnt a 5 minute process.
 
As I see it the main advantage of CE for these devices would be the instant on nature, however would you really get that with a hard disc based CE system? My understanding is that the instant on nature of CE devices is largely due to the fact that they hold the OS in ROM.
 
Given the size/weight/limited battery life of these I would see them more used as fixed room controllers rather that any sort of mobile device so you would probably want them powered on whenever the house is occupied.

Isn't it possible to make a build of CE for an intel X86 platform with the
CE Platform builder?

Therefore, these devices could in theory at least have CE installed on
them...
