I have a problem with my XP Pro system which has just started giving
problems.

I con only play music if I start a track (Winamp or MS MP) then go to MS
Volume Control and move the wav slider, the track will play fine and at
the end of the track it will then stop all sound as it moves onto the
next track only moving the slider will restore the sound !!!???

It took me ages to get any sound, I even swapped my sound card before I
found that it appears to be auto muting.

How do I get it back (without reinstalling xp)

John
