If you have only a few lights to power then you could use a standard 230/12 V transformer. These do not interfere with X10.
The reason they are not used so often nowadays is the physical bulk of the transformer, the mounting and the cost; also they can be difficult to dim as they have a high inductance. As you are using them for picture lights then I suspect you won't be dimming them.
The electronic type all tend to generate electrical noise although I am sure there are some that are very well behaved and someone else will post a suitable type to the group. I do have several (cheap B&Q type) in my house and they are not causing me an X10 problem but they do generate RF noise all over the place (radio interference).

Does anyone know of any 12v lighting transformer that don't interfere with X10.  Alternatively a source for 240v halogen swivel ceiling downlights simialr to these

http://www.tlc-direct.co.uk/Products/QLSS50B.html

They are going to be used as picture lights so the normal ball fitting type won't give enough of an angle.

Cheers

Steve
