I have only joined the group this evening & have been browing through
the posts of the last few days and have seen quite a bit of interest
in IRDA.

I have an Infra red extender from a company called smart-e.

www.smart-e.co.uk

I've been using it for around 2 months now with a Pace Telewest set
top.

It extends Video and Stereo Audio from your AV device over CAT5 and
takes IR from the TV end back to the AV device.  The IR link is IRDA
compatible.
