Stuart,

Check out www.pcb-pool.com as they do one off prototypes in either double
sided or 4 layer and plated through holes etc.

Costs are low and fixed on board size, not number of holes etc. Eurocards
cost approx 40 quid for a double sided with soldermask. Extra for
silkscreen
and only avail on 10 day service.
