Hi Andy,

=A3250 from www.digitaldepot.co.uk and you are absolutely right, it's not
silent ... If I have my 1Gb MD installed in the PCMCIA adaptor in my
laptop, the hard disc spun down and the fan off I can *JUST* manage to
hear the heads moving if I listen carefully from a couple of inches away
in a quiet room. Similarly with my camera ... I can just hear an
occasional "tick tick" as the heads seek, and that has to be with
the
drive what - four inches from my ear at the most. In any sort of case
you're not going to hear it.

Reliability ... Hmm ... Mine has travelled "naked" (i.e. no
protective
case) in my jacket pocket, I've had it in the back pocket of my jeans
and sat on it, I've dropped it about 4ft onto gravel, probably 18 inches
onto concrete and mine is fine ... An aquaintence even managed to wash a
340Mb one in his back pocket and it was still OK. I even trusted my
wedding photos to it last November...

512Mb and 640Mb cards are out but expensive and not widely available.
