Even better price/performance ratio has Tiny Personal Firewall, which is
free. http://www.tinysoftware.com
I'm using it on the main working machine and on the laptop and I love it.
Very well written, very stable and quick, quite simple to configure.

On the server I'm running WinProxy, a nice firewall/NAT/proxy with good
mail
virus scanning (and removing) capabilities. Not so free but not expensive
either ($60 for three computers). That one is running in "install and
forget
mode", mainly to provide me with NAT and block all ports for outside
access.
Works fine but hangs once in a while (approx once per month, I'd say).

For the computer-oriented people with a spare 486/slow pentium I would
recomment setting up an OpenBSD firewall. A nice solution esp. for
"always-on" connection (ADSL) as it is _very_ stable and _very_
safe. Good
setup guide is available on the net. I have one Pentium/133 box with 64 meg
running OpenBSD for the past seven days (in idle mode as I'm still waiting
on our dear telecom to connect me an ISDN and ADSL).

Best regards,
Primoz
