Folks,
I know this is off-topic, and I apologise in advance,
but, has anybody come across similar to the following. I bought
a new PC and moved my Age of Empires, AOE2 and AOE2
expansion pack games to the new PC. They were running fine
on my old machine with Win98. The new one is running WinME.
The first two still work fine on the new machine, but the expansion
pack hangs the machine at startup of the game. Sort of errors I get
are listed below. I reported this to microsoft and after a week of getting
me to run tests the closed the problem, stating it is a hardware problem
with
the new machine because the 0028 means its RAM. I find it hard to believe,
their recommendation ... get it checked out by a hardware expert.

...... extract from one of my emails to them ......

In the case of 5 I got a blue screen with the following on it :
         An error has occured
         0E:0028:C164C27A
In the case of 6 I got blue screen wit the following on it:
         An error ha soccured
         0E:0028:C169C66A

I know UKHA_D is not for gaming, and this is off topic but can anybody shed
extra light on the error messages, 'cause I'm sure not convinced by
microsoft
.....yet. Nowt else has the problem, or anything like it.
regards,
robin
