Having a look at the codes I don't think this is a discrete on / off as
such.
The on looks like a repeated code, I can turn my panasonic 28" w/s TV
on
by holding down a channel button (and have programmed the pronto to do
this). The off code may be comprised of a couple of codes (hard to tell
without a pronto and TV handy), at present this is the awkward one for me
as I can't guarantee turning of the tv as this button on my remote will
also turn it on.
I need to play around with the codes I think as the power button on the
standard remote switches off quicker than on so could explain what is seen
below (off being a shorter sequence).
The majorly annoying thing with the panasonic's is I can't flick to
specific AV channels. I can simulate an AV button press but you can't
guarantee what AV channel it will go to (I use both AV1 (video/ITVDigital)
and AV2 (S-video from the amp)). AV2 is switchable between S-video and
composite which complicates things. If I want to watch a DVD, I can press
AV which will change to the AV inputs, if I was on AV1 I can switch to AV2
OK, if I was on AV2 previously, simulating an AV2 push will switch it to
composite which won't look too good.
Sounds complicated I know (although I'm sure others have had the same
problem).
