Well, having run my first 2 CAT5 cables to the front hall when undertaking
refurbishment a couple of months ago, I have actually punched them down and
determined that my patch panel is 568B. The sockets are now terminated in
the front hall and I'm like a dog with two tails.

Further work this weekend should see completion of my 'rack' in node zero
(needs side panels) and the termination of the 4 CAT5 cables I ran to the
lounge last week. Just need to run some more (8) into my study and at last
I can think about using my DDAR.

My only regret was that I didn't take the CAT5 plunge sooner whilst
refurbishing the rest of the house. Fortunately I reckon I can retrofit
without too much disruption, although I will not run as much as I should
because of the hassle. Golden rule - CAT5 is very useful :)
