Nope, you hit it on the head. TV out is very poor for text and normal computer screen activity. Try lowering the resolution to a max of 640 by 480 or even lower. Not very satisfactory all in I'm afraid.

Looking for a way to control a computer based MP3 player around the home, I thought about displaying the screen from a TV out card in the PC modulated onto the video distribution system.
I tried this from the TV out (composite) port on my Compaq laptop and the image was illegible on the TV screen.
Am I doing something wrong?  Has anybody done this with any success? If so, what did they use?
