It's a Maplin kit that is still available on their site. Can't remember the
number but its on my site under projects/baby paws. I modified it slightly
to activate a reed relay which grounded an input line.

This is why baby paws came about. BP can supply power to the units and vary
the length of time the input is grounded for. Perfect really.

I can build you one up if you want. The Maplin kits were a tenner last time
I looked.

Let me know if you are interested.

p.s. I am starting on the modem now the LED detector is in prototyping
stage
(thanks Steve)
Only IRDA/IR repeater, one wire network hubs/switches, LCD PIC network with
keypads to go.

Ian,

What do you use for the beam break, and how do you connect it to HV?

It sounds like it's what I need as well.

The MS13 will only trigger every ten seconds if movement is continuous.
It
is too slow for room entry in my opinion in most circumstances. This is
why
I use it for motion detection but a beam break for initial activation.
The
code is in a macro so both events actually call the same code.
