1-wire network

MessageHi all,

No bargain alert this time :-)

I'm very keen on having a 1-wire network installed in my home to monitor
the
temperatures in each of my rooms (approx 10 locations). I also would like
to
do this using my PC and after reading up on the Dallas site I'm a lot
wiser.
My problem however is that I'm a complete dud with electronics and couldn't
tell a resistor from a diode.

And here in lies my problem. All information about this describes how you
(from a component manufacturer point of view) can create the most wonderful
equipment with this, but nothing is there for an end-user (like me). I did
have a look at the kit that Quasar is offering and that sounds just great,
if only it didn't have the 4 probes limitation.

Is there anyone on this list who has succesfully implemented something like
this?

Many thanks,

Q.
