Looked from the picture as though the clear grid was visible through the
faceplate surrounding the switch.

Looking again more closely, I can see that the bit visible surrounding the
switch part is in fact the white plastic of the switch :(

It could've looked quite cool with the switch surround softly illuminated
(automatically when light levels fell).
