To be honest no, every time you switch off the PC the battery keeps the juice on to keep the BIOS settings and clock running IIRC. Usually when the battery goes it just resets every time you power up.

Could be, but it was working fine on ME before the upgrade, and isnt the BIOS bater only for when power is lost??
