Hi Steve,

Pretty new to perl myself and still learning.  Can you do a pattern match replacement along the lines of ;

$x = s/^ //g;

(Replace the first space in the string with nothing)

Is it a single space or more than one that you want to replace?

Cheers,

Nick

I have been bodging up a perl script to drive a serial LCD under freebsd. Its the first perl coding i have ever done.

Can a perl wizard tell me how to truncate a space at the left side of a string ?

Steve.
