I soldered mine to those holes, if you have a spare screw connector i'd say
thats ideal. I don't know why they don't include them for the sake of a few
pence.
Almost had a drama upgrading the U1 IC, after unplugging the battery and
removing power the external siren started squealing, so I was in a bit of a
hurry to extract the old IC and damaged it. Fortunately the new one worked
fine, if it had been a dud I would have been up the proverbial creek.

How timely! - I'm just installing my Comfort UCM
upgrade as well...
I've just replaced the U1 chip with the new "Outside 1.144" version, -
that
appears to all be OK...
Just looking at the actual UCM board itself, I was wondering if the
KA/KB
connectors that aren't there, (i.e. the blue pushfit screw blocks) are
actually active on the PCB? - I'm considering desoldering the 2-pin
connector bits from my old RS232 board, and soldering them onto the new
UCM
- looks simple & straightforward enough, - even my soldering skills are
up
to that I reckon...
Then I caould just do a straight swap between the two boards, and
continue
to use the pushfit blocks...
Anyone know if that will work?
