What you are looking for are called "discrete codes" a code that
will
turn a piece of kit on but not off and vice versa - look on
www.remotecentral.com at the component configuration files there and you
should find most of what you need.

No ... The pronto has no "variables" ... What I do is I have the
hard
VOL+/- and CH+/- on the TV "page" on the Pronto control the TV
but on
all other pages they control the volume on the amp and the channel +/-
on the VCR (my TV is only used as a display rather than a receiver).
