I can't recommend anything other than the Xantech system, as I use that
myself, but I can tell you that it is very good for IR distribution, not
cheap as you say though. However I had started out on that path before I
knew of UKHA_D so someone may have an alternative that is more wallet
friendly. One or two things to watch though are to think very carefully
about which rooms *actually* need the IR receiver. So long as you leave
the wiring in place it should be a doddle to add if you need to at a
later stage. The other thing is watch where you place the receivers; the
one in my lounge does not get direct sunlight but still, in the evening,
picks up stray IR from sunlight :-(
