The electric fence around our chicken works a treat !!

Once the dog touches the fence...... they run pretty quick and soon
learn where they shouldn't go !!
(its actually to keep the fox off our chucks)

I bet this solution, tried and tested and a lot cheaper than some
special dog gizmo!

There is one at a site we will be at tomorrow I will see if I can get
some info for you.

It works by burying a loop of cable around the perimeter this transmits
a weak signal, the dog wears a collar with a built in receiver, when it
gets too close it gets a shock and runs away.

Evil, but must be fun to watch the dog learn its boundary :-)

Hi,

I know this is way off topic, but hoping there are a few dog owners out
there that can help me. I have just spent the last hour, chasing my dog
around a field behind the house, who himself was chasing 50 or so
sheep......... The dog is a boxer pup (9 months old), and much fitter
than me (althoug if I have to do this again, I might start to catch up
if I dont have a heart attack first).

Anyway to get to the point, anyone seen these electronic fences they
use for dogs to keep them within the house boundary. I hate to use it,
but at this stage its either going to be me or the farmer who has the
dog shot. If anyones used them, I'd apprectiat some advise.

Thanks,
Eamon
