RE: Where's my dog ?

Actually I was thinking of a similar thing - no not radar for dogs but some sort of proximity detector. A
keyfob that actives something (light, garage door, etc) when it (my keyfob and no one elses) comes in range.

Anything like that about.  Actually we have something similar at work for the doors but the range is about 1cm, I
was thinking say 20 feet.

Subject: [ukha_d] Where's my dog ?

My new house has blessed me with a large garden / woods / field area that surrounds it and a dog that has developed selective deafness when he wants.

Does anyone know of any product or solution that would provide me with a collar type device that would allow me to find him when he's chasing the squirrels ? Some form of RF direction finding solution perhaps ? - I even considered a GPS receiver and a little transmitter (I hold a UK Amateur Radio license). I had seen some similar thing proposed for lost children at one stage, a debatable benefit perhaps some would think !
