You
can set the backlight to come on depending upon the available light level.
or to
come on when you touch the screen...
Personally I agree with you, battery life is good
on
AA's - I have gone through 2 sets in 12 months. - including loads of
initial
programming.
Its
all down to personal taste.

Is the
docking station worth it?
When I
am using this for movies I will need backlight on to see as they lights are
down.
Somewhere I read that the screen is best
with
the backlight on (esp. in dark!) - I assume it can be set to come
on
with the screen. Battery life? how long does it last?
Is 45
quid for a fancy charger really worth it? or have I missed something,
like
it does something else too.
Cheers
Keith
Been
fine for me....
It
does remember its stuff even with the batteries out, and you can keep a
copy
of the config on the PC.

Oh
btw is a pronto running on AAs with no docking station really a good idea
if
you want to do a lot of programming?
Errr.....where did I mention colour
ones?
Weren't we talking about the contrast of the MONO ones?
What's this...pick on McCall
day!?

why not just get the new sony clie, with the extended ir? only £340

could.
