Re: [ukha_d] Tivo for £199 inc VAT and Next DayDelivery

Title: Message
A friend used to sell them ;-) Unfortunately he has since left. It's
a sweet unit - has a few niggles, like no way to turn it off by
remote. But then the Vigatec staff are good and usually can be
found answering questions on www.avsforum.com or posting new
firmware etc. I may need to eventually switch from 1 SDI to the
new 3 input SDI board - but since I have no SDI sources that
can wait.

If you can let me know a UK company that can convert things to
SDI, I'd be a very happy person :-)

Bov!

ps - don't let friends join toy-companies like this, what starts out
as a good friendship, soon deteriorates into a pusher-junkie hell.

*chuckle* You have the same scaler that I'm after...

There is a place in the UK which does such conversions and I have been in touch with them some time ago for exactly the same reason (looking at getting the SDI equipped Vigatec and wanted my DVD player adapting). I'll try to find their address for you.

Where did you get your Vigatec cheap? (I'm currently using a TView QuadScan Pro.)

Nope - The scalar can take it, but I want to get the DVD/Sky+ units
modified to output it - hence my question: Does anyone here know
of a man (or woman) that is a bit of a whiz with electronics? There
are places in the US that do it, but I'm trying to find a UK place.

Must say, the projector does not take SDI/DVI though - so no
fully digital path - only half baked cheapo solutions for me... Got
a second hand Barco projecting onto an 8 foot Stewart screen,
the Vigatec processor was the expensive bit and I got that cheap
too. But if anyone is considering plasma or projection, I'd recommend
a scalar, even if it means a cheaper projector etc.
SDI? You sod!

Everyone else better give up now coz this man has better toys than us!

Do I assume your Sky box and DVD player were/are modified?
