Missed a couple of bits...

Having spent a lot of time in an Alpha years ago (a really good mate had
one), the BMW will come as a revelation.

One of the problems with buying a two year old model is that you won't
be able to get one with a sequential gearbox and it makes a MASSIVE
difference to the way the car drives.

have you any experience of the M coupe or roadster?

Thinking of treating myself (to a 2yr old one) if I pass an exam next
week.

Have an Alfa GTV at the moment & feel the urge for more power (&
less
rattles)
