Is it the kind of thing that could be implemented in a new receiver.arf?

Maybe it could be on the "request list"?

I can work around up to a point - Homevision also keeps track of the
"random" state, in a flag, and then, the Pronto Macro sends a
"discrete
code" to the Homevision, which then sends the "toggle" if
requried ;-)

no there isn't - and not for power or repeat either. This has been
requested many a time (to Rio) who basically aren't supporting this
product anymore...

Well they are but they haven't released an official update for over
12 months.
