Tim,

Like you, I've got opinions ;-)

I just don't think I've got any insights that you aren't already aware
of. I remember you joining the group back in March 1999, and figure that
3 years ought to have been long enough for an obviously intelligent guy
to have picked up the pros and cons.

Personally - if I were doing it all over again, and money weren't a big
issue, I'd go for upmarket stuff controllable by HomeVision somehow!

Mine has been a semi-total rewire - doing it in sections. Basic
rule I'm following is to route everything back to one side of
the house and along to one central point. That gives me the
flexibility to change things later - I can wire pretty much
any combination - never enough wires :)
