HA! It's not just me then!
I put in 4 LD11's last year when the bedroom was being refurbished, one of
which was for the lounge, immediately below the bedroom. - I figured that
while the floor was up would be a good time do do the light below as well.
I
could not run all new wiring for for that one, - I ran new from the LD11 to
the light fitting, but I had to use the existing supply on the downstairs
lighting circuit, and the existing wiring to the lounge switch... (big
mistake) I spent the best part of an entire day with my multimeter trying
to
figure out exactly what wires were which (I had a bundle of about a dozen!)
- with SWMBO downstairs operating the switch, whilst I checked the
continuity upstairs.. I thought I had it all figured out, BUT!...
Now, whenever I put the lounge light on, the following occurs...
If the Hall lights are on, the Lounge light will NOT come on,
If the hall lights are off, then the lounge lights will come on, but not at
the correct brightness, and the hall lights come on dimly as well!
If the lounge light is on, and I turn the hall lights on, the lounge light
goes off.
Weird, and very annoying! - the only way round it will obviously be to run
new wiring to the switch, but that involves hacking out the lounge wall,
which I REALLY didn't want to have to do...
