I don't understand, if you read all the messages you must find them of
interest in one way or another including the ones clearly marked for the
subject or OT, either that or you're a real curious bugger ;-)

Whatever way why complain about the volume of mail or the ads, I stopped
using newsgroups because every second post was an ad for (usually) some
porn
site or viagra and I find that far more tasteless then the, by comparison,
Yahoo ads. Or maybe I was on the wrong newsgroups...oops :-) I certainly
don't read every single post, like the ones about HomeSeer and Meteor
recently, I don't have either therefore I have no interest in them, I *may*
skip through them if I get time but I don't generally read every one of
them.

Unless I picked you up wrong you are proposing different groups for
different systems which I don't think would work on a number of levels not
least of which being that the knowledge contained in this community is vast
and very wide ranging and would be fractured as a result of such a move.

Yeah, but I don't delete messages until I read them (except for very long
ones) and once they are already read, there's no use of deleting them
anymore...:-).

So why bother?

Seems a lot of hassle to end up where you started, which is ultimately what
would probably happen.

I don't mind the number of posts...I *have* a delete key! ;-)

So you subscribe to both :-). You can deliver them to the same folder or
separate.
You just get one more option...
Again, should not go into extreme and create the group which will have 3
messages a month. When group volume drops significantly, then should be
cancelled and moved somehow back into "mother of all groups"
