I'm planning to use 12/24v relays for mains switching of lights etc, but
I've come across two different types of relay - impulse and latch. As I
understand it, impulse relays are active only when the coil is energised,
whereas latching relays just require a momentary signal through the coil to
become and stay active.
Assuming this is right, I have a couple of qs:
1. Is an impulse relay damaged by keeping the coil active all the time?
2. How do you switch off a latching relay?
Any electricians out there?
Regards
Andrew
