I thought that's what he was after too on initial reading, but I
think he wants to plug from NTL phone socket into RJ45 socket to feed
the phone signal back to the patch panel (I assume there are reasons
why he doesn't just patch from the back of the phone socket into the
back of the RJ45 socket), though he will need the adapters you
describe too.  B&Q may even do them - I know I got some for about a
fiver somewhere, I just can't remember where :(
