RE: ePods help!

If you can browse the web why not email the terminal services client to
yourself (I assume you that's why you need activesync)

IIRC the only version of activesync that works with the ePods is 3.0

Hope this Helps

Pedro

Subject: [ukha_d] ePods help!

Having arrived v.late to the ePods party, I don't know what issues ppl
had/were resolved at the time, so forgive me if this is going over old
ground.....
I was using my ePods to browse the web (v.slowly with IE4) but want to use
terminal services instead, as I understand this is quicker.
To do that I need to install ActiveSync.
This is where the problems begin.
I made up a null modem cable to connect to the PC, which is already running
Active Sync 3.5 for my iPaq. I try to register the ePod but it doesn't
work.
I ran hyperterminal on the PC to see what's going on, and can see that the
ePod is sending 'CLIENT' when it tries to connect with PC Link to initiate
active sync.
I tried running the comms program (can't remember what it's called) on the
ePod to get them to communicate that way and could see what I typed on the
virtual keyboard on the hyperterminal screen, but could not see what I
typed
on the PC on the epods screen.
I'm thinking here that the null modem cable is maybe not the type that
ePods
likes, so was wondering if anyone had a pinout that does work (why _are_
there so many different pinouts for null modem cables????) or indeed could
mail me their epods installation of terminal services or even a how-to to
get active sync working over LAN without hooking up by serial cable first
to
create a partnership!
I have CF cards and indeed lan access to copy things to the ePods - it's
just a pain in the ass that most install proggies insist on going via
ActiveSync :-(

cheers,

Tony
