RE: Plasma Advice

Hi Peter

Also consider the Toshiba units being sold by Richer (If they still have them.) I got mine for =A33,100.00 and the warranty for =A3150 after a
serious amount of haggling (Be prepared to walk out I in a huff!). The
beauty is it is EXACTLY the same screen as the Pany 5 series (Comes from the same factory.) and costs less.
I looooveeee mine. I would not recommend buying it though withought the
warranty as the Tosh units are return to base.

Many thanks

After a long battle, it appears I might be making progress with SWMBO
with regard to a plasma purchase.  From reading previous posts, I've surmised that the LGs and Samsungs are a bargain, but for quality I
should probably go for a Panasonic.  With that in mind, Richer Sounds<= BR> are doing the TH42PW4B for =A33,699
(http://www.richersounds.com/index.php?f=3Ditemdetl.php&p=3D205862)= - is
this money well spent?

SWMBO's main concern is the life of the set before it starts to go grey
or burn out.  I've seen quoted elsewhere a reasonable life of 10,000hr= s
for a plasma - is this correct?  Based on those figures, if the TV's o= n
for 5hrs a day, and it's watched 5 days per week, that gives just under
8 years life, which doesn't seem too bad, assuming the quality doesn't
tail-off after 5,000 hours, and starts to look very bad at 10,000.
Anybody got any thoughts on this, or other recommendations?  Richers also do a warranty for 3 years at =A3250, is this money well spent?  <= BR>
I'm not a badge snob when it comes to these (Amstrad don't make plasmas, thank goodness!), so if people thing an LG is equally as good, then
please say.  My room size dictates that 42" is about as large as = the
screen can go.

Sorry for all the questions!

Pete
