If you see the Panasonic side-by-side with some of the major brands (let alone the lesser ones) you'll see that it is worth the premium. Ivojo
are doing the version 5 panel for 3,500 including VAT. The Panasonics
will take a PAL progressive scan signal - not all plasmas will.

Don't forget the rated life (15,000 IIRC) is based on using it with the
contrast (white level) set to the factory level and is based on the time taken for the panel to go to half brightness. If you calibrate the panel properly, it will only be set to around 70% of max, so the panel should
last you well into the introduction of HDTV (BBC R&D are about a mile >from
