Plasma Advice

After a long battle, it appears I might be making progress with SWMBO with<= BR> regard to a plasma purchase.  From reading previous posts, I've surmis= ed
that the LGs and Samsungs are a bargain, but for quality I should probably<= BR> go for a Panasonic.  With that in mind, Richer Sounds are doing the TH= 42PW4B

is this money well spent?

SWMBO's main concern is the life of the set before it starts to go grey or<= BR> burn out.  I've seen quoted elsewhere a reasonable life of 10,000hrs f= or a
plasma - is this correct?  Based on those figures, if the TV's on for = 5hrs a
day, and it's watched 5 days per week, that gives just under 8 years life,<= BR> which doesn't seem too bad, assuming the quality doesn't tail-off after
5,000 hours, and starts to look very bad at 10,000.  Anybody got any thoughts on this, or other recommendations?  Richers also do a warrant= y for
3 years at =A3250, is this money well spent? 

I'm not a badge snob when it comes to these (Amstrad don't make plasmas, thank goodness!), so if people thing an LG is equally as good, then please<= BR> say.  My room size dictates that 42" is about as large as the scr= een can go.
