Ah, I know what you mean.

I was thinking you knew of some of the same type/shape etc.

I actually have some of those lamps you mention, had them for about 12 years, not been used very often as they are big heavy things.

If he lamps do not hang straight down the filament will not be supported
correctly and will fail prematurely.

High efficiency lamps are small fluorescents folded around and mounted on a
base the same as a normal bulb, they will work in any orientation and last
about 10 times longer, they also use a fraction of the electricity which
offsets the initial cost of several pounds each. You can get them from Argos
or Homebase. IIRC an 11 watt one is equivalent to a 60 watt bulb.
