Download speeds are good (the service did go through a month of
problems) - 50 to 60 Kbps sustained :-)

Web browsing can be slower on complex pages due to latency (signal
bouncing off a satellite!) - ping times can be a second or two. Can feel
slower than a dial up connection!

Upload speeds - forget it - VERY slow and loses connection regularly :-(

BT support - Abysmal, appalling, rubbish at best! Never yet had a call
back although promised probably about 8-10 time now! Got some
compensation after a lot of chasing

On the whole, I'm still keeping it as download speeds on file transfers
are very good.

Paul.

A friend got it installed and he had soo many issues with it he had to
get it removed.  Bt then promised him a refund, now have decided they
are going to take him to court over the matter of contract - how stupid
:)

Paul, I'd be very interested to hear why you're struggling with the
BTopenworld satellite service? (It's my only decent Broadband option as
well)

Hmmmm.

Interested in some different views myself too. I saw SatBB at a client's
site a week or so ago, and it was *terrible* 6/7 second response time to
clicks, and pages that loaded in frames took *forever*

If you pasted in a URL direct to a download, it was okayish (about same
speed as heavily congested ADSL) but for browsing, absolutely no use at
all.
:(

I.
