RE: Sky+ software update



Sky is updated automatically via the dish (takes less than 10 minutes
and usually happens overnight), it can be "forced" if you know an update
is available by removing the mains lead and then re-seating it while
holding down the back-up button on the front panel. Listings also arrive
via the dish.

The phone line on Sky is only used for PPV events and any interactive
services that you might want to use (though why you would who knows). It
also serves as a way for Sky to check that any mirror sub you may have
is installed at the same premises (both boxes must be attached to the
same line)
