I have a LinkSys eight port switch (EZXS88W)and it certainly works
fine, was cheap, and did I say it had eight ports, which was a bit
handy 'cos I needed six!.  10/100,half/full, and the odd uplink port,
which is just paralleled with the last port.  ie the last "channel"
has two sockets, one normal, one uplink, use one or other, not both.
Saves the cost of an MDI/MDI-X switch I guess.  I have an uplink to
NetGear 5 port 10/100 switches, but the NetGears internally
autoswitch to uplink if required, so they are plugged into "ordinary"
ports.

I dont do gaming, so cant comment if there is some gamey thing it
doesnt do.
