Re: Lamp Module Dimming

Hi,

I get enough range for my needs with LM12 and AM12, but I need some reliable devices especially for dimming .

Best regards,
Dan

  Yeah,

I am getting close to ripping a lot of the X-10 stuff out, and going home
build. it's just too damn unreliable. :

That being said, perhaps I need to get my mains checked. I know the X-10
range I get at the moment is apalling.

  I.

  Hi,

I have a brand new LM12 module from an Active Home Kit (CM12+LM12+AM12).
I cannot use it because a lot of times it latches at full brightness
(nothing happen when click on LAMP OFF) and I need to disconnect the power
in order to stop it... then .. again...
Sometimes it can be dimmed, but to an arbitrary value (not related to the
  entered DIM value).
I don't know what to say, because for that reason I cannot use it in my home
(because of the chance that the light goes on by himself)..

Very disappointed ... this is my first X10 kit and practically only the AM12
  module is reliable enough.

I think I will try to build one by myself, using a PIC.

  Best regards,
  Dan

    Subject: [ukha_d] Lamp Module Dimming

Has anyone found any other ways of dimming a standard LM12 lamp module
using Homeseer, other than the boring old Standard Dim ?

There's really tempting things like Leviton Dim and Preset Dim, but none
of them seem to work. All I ever get a lamp at full brightness and then
a dim down to 50% say. I can't make it dim up to 50% from off, without
    the full brightness step.

I've even tried turning the lamp on at Dim 0% then then dimming up to
50%, but I still get full brightness first.

Is this all we can get in the UK, or have I missed something ?

    Thanks
