RE: Re: Radio clock

How big a programming job is it for someone to write an application that
takes a xAP message (or anything I guess) containing the time and update
the PC clock with it? I don't have always on Internet access and having
built a Rugby receiver it would be good to enable all PC's to sync to it. I
am sure there are many others without this access who would like this as
well. Also, a lot of my PC's are only on for an hour or so rather than all
the time. If the signal was broadcast every half an hour or whatever then
all PC's would always be correct - cool.

I think that there is a rule that you should not access Time servers on
internet from more than 2 machines on your network. Instead, you should
install Time server on your network and synchronize local PCs with it.

There are several freeware/shareware Windoze programs that sync your
PC's system clock to atomic clocks on the internet.  I'm using this
on my computers and have been very happy.  Not sure if your computer
has internet access readily available though.

A google search will find many more...

  Hope this helps,
