I've been using Sony +RW, Infiniti +R, Infiniti +RW, Philips +RW and el
cheapo bulkpaq -R's from Creative Doogie...what a ten minute drive from
your gaff? ;)

The cheapo -R's were, from memory about 40p a disc.
