IR system - default IR codes and HomeVision

I'm trying to decide on a set of 'standard' IR codes to use for various
HA tasks (light, heating etc). I obviously don't want to use anything
that will conflict with any kit I've already got. I also want to use
codes that HomeVision will recognise as a 'standard' code so it doesn't
have to be taught (and have the limitation of x number of codes
available - there may be an awful lot eventually).

The codes will also originate from a Pronto Pro, so have to be easy to
enter (would they use the RC5/6 modes???)

Any thoughts?
