Understandable...

Maybe I'll try to write a VB program whereby you can browse through your
FLAC collection and check off the tunes you want in a portable, and, with
the click of a button, transcode them to mp3 and dump them to a particular
location.

In my spare time, of course... ;-)

2 reasons for me, the first is that I ripped it all before Flac was
supported in my players (DDARs), the second is that at the moment
there is no portable player that can handle Flac so I would need to
duplicate stuff to carry it around with me.

I will probably re-rip everything eventually, but not until I can get
software, network hardware and portable hardware that can all
understand the same lossless format.
