X10 DM10 (External PIR) Configuration

Folks,
Anyone here got a X10 External PIR (think it's called DM10)?? Used to
be
used most commonly as part of the X10 RoboRex setup.
Anyway, I've got one - not for use with RoboRex - which I've been
trying
to use as plain old PIR outside - but I can't understand its
configuration (and, unsurprisingly, the docs don't help).
If I configure the PIR to, say, address K16 - when someone goes past, I
get an "K16 K On" sequence - which is exactly what I would
expect.
But I then get seemingly random On and Off messages relating to K9 !!
I know the K9 is related to the PIR 'cos if I change the K16 address
to,
say, K13, the K9 changes to K6 (iirc).
Obviously, using Homeseer or the like I can just ignore the the
spurious, random messages - and just use the K16 to drive what I need -
but can anyone shed any light on the 'phantom' addressing ??
Cheers,
Robert
