RE: Underfloor heating...

1: Would you recommend it?

Yes, definitely - Retro-installed it whilst major rebuild with builders
was going on.

2: Can it co-exist in a house that also has radiators in other rooms.

Can do, I haven't.

We have a lot of work to do in the sitting room, including replacing the
old, nasty carpet, with a wooden floor. Mary would like individual
control of each room's temperature, and is happy to do this with xAP /
Homevision... but would also like underfloor heating.

I'd be VERY interested in anyone has used any COTS or HV control for UFH
- I really am not interested in Dallas 1820's or whatever else
electrical thingys can be made to work (me and electricity don't
typically get on well)

One of the American HV users uses Enerzone RX-15 stats (?) with HV, and
is on the HV users page through CSI

I have no HA (!) yet (?) of my UFH.  Use a DCD Heating Controller, which
I can thoroughly recommend, with a single 'normal' thermostat, and use
flow-control from the manifold to provide some form of room-balancing
(though would probably recommend individual room thermostats if we were
happy with a horrible lump of plastic half way up the wall in each room
[Though liked the look of the (semi) flush thermostats that Enerzone
sell.]

Comments, suggestions, recommended suppliers?

IMHO, the DCD Heating Controller is excellent, and works particularly
well in our case as it controls the temperature you want for the time
you want (and learns~HA-like) about the prevailing ambient temperatures
(outside sensor so kicks in earlier on cold days), and also learns about
the heat-up rate, therefore reducing the thermal-lag effect.

Can't remember where I got my UFH from, but I basically bought all the
UFH piping and manifold for something like UKP 500, and
installed/plumbed the rest myself.
