OK - I've made an application for a reserved port number. It's normally a "two week" process to get a decision (ha ha).

For the meantime, I suggest we use 1739, since we're unlikely to have a conflict, and we'll all change to the official number IN SOURCE CODE in a couple of weeks.

Yes - they're managed by ICANN.

Thats got to be a speciality product right?  I dont have that on any of our
systems here.  There is a web site for registering services if I remember
rightly

According to my /etc/services, port 1739 is reserved for Integrity
Solution's dbreporter service.
